Artist Collaborations
Commissions welcome
Susan Tilgner is a charcoal and watercolour artist based on the Gold Coast. For 25 years, her work in environmental conservation has provided a constant source of inspiration. In awe of Australia’s diverse landscapes, ecosystems, and wildlife, she admits she has a special fondness for our beautiful birdlife.
Susan draws on her experiences in nature, personal observations, and photography to compose her artworks. She attributes her eye for composition to her life-long love of photography. Whilst always having a passion for art, her love for drawing and painting has developed in more recent years. She has been honing her artistic skills by attending art workshops, regular ‘life portrait’ sessions with a local artist group, and many hours of practice.
An emerging passion for Susan is exploring how to use her art to raise funds for conservation projects. Two recent projects were the 2025 Australian Birds Calendar to raise money Fight 4 Flight, a birds of prey carer based in northern Queensland; and the 2025 Birds of Feather Art Exhibition to raise money for the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s wildlife hospital. Information about these projects, art prints and more, can be viewed on her website and socials. Susan welcomes commission requests and is very keen to collaborate with other artists who share her passion for wildlife and art.
